Don't forget to
Great work. It will be great to take a tour on that city
Also well done muppo, "great" word twice on the same sentence :/
And don't worry, I got it
But one thing I do have to say is that not working completely from scratch doesn't necessarily take less talent, only less time (of which some people don't have as much ^^).
For example, I built a pretty sweet cathedral once. But since I am one of those people, I finished one ... well ... cross-section of the whole thing that would be exactly repeated about 6 times, and I copied the remaining 5 via MCedit. Doesn't change the fact that I created it, I only didn't do the repetitive parts. Then of course people who build cities or some such with pre-formed houses and stuff they didn't build themselves are another matter entirely.
Well, to build such a city, you need to find a design for each buildings, some mind-made
and some has been build by using reference pictures. You also need to make the zoning which takes a lot of time (Build roads and such) Plus Lapiz Point, the city in the picture, is all furnished and we built cars by hand and without using WorldEdit. Also, If you ever noticed, each overpasses, roads and buildings & such are perfectly designed like in-real buildings and all at the perfect spot to make the perfect skyline. Our goal is to build the perfect city respecting the in-real city restrictions and to add the most details as we can, signs on stop signs, Car licence plates and more.
So yeah, even if we use WorldEdit, it doesn't mean we are lazy or anything we still build the city and it takes a lot of time to build such a city and also a lot of talent and knowledge.
The most important thing still there no matter what way you play: to create. That's what minecraft is about for me
In the end, things like WorldEdit are just another tool in one's arsenal. What matters is the outcome. And I daresay you pretty much got that nailed straight-on ^^
Wish I had the patience for this kind of thing in Minecraft. I don't necessarily lack the ability, but time is always the factor that ruins things for me ... -.-
Ah well, one day I will finish my medieval city.
Very nice work ^^
How long did it took to build that?
